Hi, my name is Steven Clark and I currently reside in Lenah Valley, Hobart way down at the bottom of the Australian island state of Tasmania. You can see Tasmania hanging off the right buttock of the Australian mainland if you use a good map and a magnifying glass.
The photography on this website is about the unposed Tasmanian experience without gloss or metaphor, stripped bare of it’s romanticism and relieved of its tourist dynamic. I am interested in the structure of society and the shape that humans impose onto the landscape. I like to chase after a rawness and drama in the work that I present in this portfolio.
I live with my partner in a suburban house in the foothills of Hobart’s Mount Wellington.
